Well i am in Europe...and i know i have posted nothing against ANY law in the western world. Iam not scared.
There are already "places" where this is further discussed i n private. What you postulate is already in place.
What is wrong with me? I tell you what is wrong with me. I am sick and tired of seeing rape swept under the carpet. YOu knwo what i think? I think it should be discussed until our tongues are falling out. I think rape should be dissected in all its shitty inglory. The rape weirdos here are not the real problem. The real problem are the "lets sweep it under the carpet" kind of guys. And the real serious problem are the guys who do not talk about anything but just rape. Like the egyptians that did that to her.
In fact we should all discuss all graphic details of rape victims so we finally de-tabooize this whole shitty crime once and for all. Because what we have in our society is a code of silence in rape cases: It is a privat matter. It is not. It is a crime against humanity like gassing folks. It should be brought to attention and discussed by the public. That is modern thinking. Sweeping all under the carpet and be silent is how the it was dealt with in the past.
We should not let it go. We should talk about it. HERE. With respect to her and to rape victims in general we should talk about what happened. Dont you understand? When someone gets raped a society is traumatized. Its us. This is not an individual crime done to individuals. Its like murder: Something that deeply affects every person. As it should.
Give either Clarissa Ward or Elizabeth Palmer the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent title because they really stepped up to the plate when Lara Logan has flatline. Lara should just be a local correspondent reporting on special interest stories like a new baby panda at the zoo.
What are you Weaver, a stalker? Look at the amount of pictures he took of Lara Logan.
Logan at one point addressed a question she has been repeatedly asked, "Was it worth it?" Her answer was that if she had died, no, it wasn't worth it. But she lived, and yes, she thought that it was probably worth it.
So it was worth it to get raped with hands and surrender to the sexual assault?
It was a stupid question. I would have reprimanded the guys that asked her that. Of course it wasnt worth it. She went to Egypt to interview Mubarak or some other super high official there. And instead of that she became the story? Of course that was just shit.
I think she tried to answer it in a broader context: Was it worth it being a foreign correspondent? Even when concerning what happened in Tahir? Yes, she tells us. It was worth it. Would it have been worth it when she would have died in Tahir? No. Because then she would have died a disgusting death at 40 years with two babies home alone. Of course it wouldnt have been worth it.
PS: Weaver knows charismatic beauty when he sees it. Of course he photographs her. He is no idiot.
Discussion about current events related to a public figure, whether it is supportive or cruel, is certainly allowed on the internet. It is disturbing to see it suggested that those who gather together to discuss an item in the news are somehow placing themselves at risk. It is also disturbing to see it suggested that the subject of the discussion in the thread is somehow harmed if the thread exists. No one is forcing Logan to look at this thread. No one can stop people from discussing her situation, online or in person. The assertion is that no one, in the entire world, from this moment until eternity, can discuss and consider the aspects of this attack on a public figure without doing harm to that person? That doesn't seem compelling.
The thread is winding down on its own. The rate of increase of pages has been dropping for months. If it weren't for the posted ".", the name-calling fights, and you, REE, the thread wouldn't grow at all.

The sharks have tasted blood, and it taste good to them.Have you notice they are assaulting and raping more foreigners now. They have always been a country known for raping their women, and after getting away with raping Lara, with no fear of punishment it will only get worst. This is only one,of the many threads and blogs to come. Each assault it gets worst, two broken arms will lead to rape with two broken necks. If we keep sweeping the dirt under the rug,it will become a grave for some undeserving woman.
After the old man is a mother and daughter. I wonder what they asked or said. Maybe the mother said "We are very inspired by your story miss Logan. My daughter was also raped with hands so we know how you feel.
Are they allowed to take a picture with her? Maybe she charges 10 dollars for a picture with her and 5 dollars for an autographed picture of her.

In about 2 months, it's going to be the 1 year anniversary of the Lara Logan assault. How will it be celebrated? Will somebody actaully find the footage or will Lara Logan finally reveal everything. What will happen to all the people on this thread. Will they continue with the thread or go on to a different assault?

Well it gets more interesting every day, the deeper you look at the whole thing the worse it is for the Egyptian's, as I have said before to EE there were multiple victims but LL went thru hell.
The Anniversary s/be be the identification and arrest of the sob's involved, they know who they are.
LL does not need to do the CBS Special the stress would kill her, she is an extremely strong south african woman, but does not deserve to go through this a million times or it will define her.
Yes but what is your argument here exactly? How do you define the standards on what grounds a thread should grow exactly? Do you propose a thread is only growing when there are meaningful discussions going on all the time? You could say that. But how many threads in how many forums and boards would fall into this category?
Or do you propose this thread only grows when there is substantial information being shown? Like evidence? Is that what you mean?
